SPOILER ALERT! Downton Abbey - Wedding Style

Downton Abbey fever has struck again with the start of season 3 this past weekend! As a huge fan myself, I just couldn't resist featuring the stunning Wedding styling that featured in Episode One. Season 3 is yet to air in the US (and elsewhere around the world!) so if you're worried about spoilers, click off now!

Lady Mary looked absolutely amazing in her 1920's ivory gown with a beautiful headpiece and classic veil.  The house was adorned with so many beautiful flowers, in a very classic green and white theme that is actually extremely popular at the moment. I was surprised to see that she had a bouquet of white Calla Lillies (actually what I had on my wedding day I have to say!). The white bunting throughout the whole village was a lovely touch, such an effective way to decorate large areas.

Why not take inspiration from The Downton Abbey Wedding for your own Wedding day...

The Dress: The Vintage Wedding Dress Company have a great selection of vintage 1920's Wedding dresses to choose from.
The Flowers: Follow this classic and elegant green and white theme in your floral arrangements, reminiscent of The Duchess of Cornwall's choice for her Wedding. With a very simple hand tied bouquet of white Calla Lillies.
The Flower Girls: Lady Mary's flower girls looked absolutely gorgeous in 20's style nude dresses. Monsoon have a great selection of dresses for little flower girls.
The Accessories: A gorgeous headpiece and classic veil really does add the perfect finishing touch to your wedding ensemble. Jenny Packham has an amazing selection online.
The Bunting: White bunting is avaiblable on Not on the High Street but why not get creative and make some yourself?
The Venue: If you are really looking for that real Downton wow factor, why not get married at the home of Downton Abbey. Highclere Castle is licensed to hold civil ceremonies and has a selection of rooms available to hire for your Wedding Reception.
