DIY - Napkin Rings

Dressing your napkins is a simple and stylish way to give your tables a lift. You can also be as creative as you wish. Go on... get into that DIY mood and make something really special for each of your guests.

I love these very simple wooden napkin rings, they are available to buy on Etsy.  But priced at £9 for 6 why not make them yourself? The perfect job for your groom, father of the bride or father of the groom.
Looking for something pretty and a little less time consuming? Why not choose a ribbon to suit your theme and tie around each napkin. I love the variation of candy colours above.
Why not personalise your ribbon... print on your monogram, names or a message to your guests. Available at Blue Bow Designs.
You can also add a sprig of lavender (or any flower to suit your floral arrangements).
Even the most simple of fabrics can look stunning... these ideas are super simple and effective.

Table Plan Ideas... Get Creative!

When I was asked to write a blog post on 'Wedding table plan ideas' my first thoughts were to how I would make one myself. My 'thing' of the moment is to write on over sized mirrors. I think you can (really easily) create a great dramatic effect and also help to add light and space to your room.
Calligraphy Companies (such as http://www.calligraphycompany.com/calligraphy-for-table-plans) offer a service to do this for you. But it is fairly simple to do yourself... with a bit of practice!
If you are looking for a more 'traditional' table plan I love the designs below. You can order all of these online but again, I would have a go at doing it yourself.  Not just to save on the pennies, but one thing I have learned about table plans is they do tend to change a lot! Right up until days before the wedding (sometimes hours!). So it is much easier if you are able to change it easily yourself. I would advise finding a close friend - the one you always admired in art classes, or who has fantastic handwriting - and delegate!

Top tip: Have more than one table plan in the room - to avoid over crowding.

The Small and Intimate Real Wedding of Two Long Distance Sweethearts.

Chris & Cynthia's story is not your average 'boys meets girl' love epic, and I think they can be glad of that. Theirs is a tale of long distance phone calls, many transatlantic flights, and utter devotion. Cynthia lived in Florida, Chris lived in England. Immediately, the odds were not in their favour. The time, effort and patience they displayed in maintaining a transatlantic relationship is truly inspiring. They managed it, and these are the photos from their wonderful wedding.  Being young, they did not have the means to throw an enormous wedding for hundreds of guests, although I suspect many hundreds would have turned up given half the opportunity. The wedding party was made up of just 12 guests... a beautiful day for a beautiful couple.

Wedding Stationery Goodies

Whilst having a quick browse on Etsy today I came across this fantastic supplier for Wedding stationery and goodies. Shinta Shop makes chic, simple and elegant custom made wedding invitations, favours, favour boxes, favour bags, mini bags, paper bags, gift bags for bridesmaids, thank you cards... you name it.  They can all be personalised too (either printed with the individual guest name or the couple's name) making them so perfect for your Wedding supplies.

Their products are all beautifully understated and have a unique and rustic, eco-friendly twist.  Priced at around £1 each I believe they are reasonably cheap for a custom made item too.  Fill them with home-made goodies for a true rustic vibe, or with your favourite sweets if you are a little stretched for time.  I love their cupcake boxes... perfect if you are having a cupcake tiered Wedding cake!
