And a silver sixpence in your shoe...
I am an absolute stickler for following good, old fashioned traditions (I have written about the history of the popular verse 'something old, something new' on Bride De Force before) and I have just found out that The Royal Mint has produced a new Wedding silver sixpence coin. What an absolutely brilliant present for a bride-to-be I thought - so had to share it with you all.
Don't forget... it should be the father of the bride who places the sixpence in the bride's (left) shoe. It is a symbol of him wishing her prosperity, love and happiness in her marriage.

The wedding silver sixpence is available to buy for £30 from The Royal Mint.

Husband-to-be Tip Off... Wedding Present Idea
I am a little sentimental, but this is a Wedding present idea that I would personally love and treasure.
A uniquely personalised 'remember when' poster that celebrates all those treasured memories... and if you are all thinking bluuurrrghhhh... it doesn't all have to be slushy, you can be as fun as you like.
Available from Not On The High Street it comes in three sizes (unframed): Small: 30 x 25cm (£38), Medium: 40 x 30cm (£45) and Large: 50 x 40cm (£52). I hope my husband is reading this...

Colourful (and Bonkers!) Vases
If you are planning a colourful Wedding day with a difference... perhaps with a 'mad hatters style tea party' these vases could be just your thing. As soon as I saw these not-so-straight bottle vases I fell in love with their quirky charm. Using them would definitely make your Wedding stand apart from the norm!
Available from Not On The High Street from £8.

Weatherproof Your Big Day
As all of you Brits will know just too well, you just can't ever 100% rely on our skies to hold back the rain for your Wedding Day (and remember, if it does rain it is considered lucky!). All you can do is keep everything crossed for sunshine and make sure you are ready if showers should come. Here are just a few pointers to ensure your Big Day is not effected by the weather...
Space in your venue.
Make sure your venue has enough room to hold everyone for the drinks reception inside. For example, if you have a marquee make sure there is enough space for your guests to stand comfortably.
Buy or hire some brollies.
The way that I look at things... having a stock of brollies at the ready will hopefully ensure sunshine!
If you are having a rural Wedding reception and you would like photographs taken outside, whatever the weather, perhaps it is worth considering purchasing some Wedding Wellies. They can brighten up your photographs and have become quite a fun accessory for many brides.
Beat the heat. On the flip side, if you are lucky enough to blessed with sunshine make sure your caterers are primed with cool drinks for your guests. Home-made lemonade and Pimms always go down really well when it is hot. Parasols also make a great accessory if the weather is on your side.

Pashminas at the ready.
Have a stack of colour co-ordinating pashminas at the ready for yourself and your bridesmaids... this way if it does get chilly the photographs will remain colour coordinated.

A Stunning Real Cornish Wedding
I have some absolutely beautiful Wedding photographs to share with you all today... think quintessentially English styling mixed with glorious sunshine and organic beauty! Thank you to Sarah and Andrew for sharing their amazing Wedding with us. Married in Polzeath, Cornwall, on a beautiful summer's day, their Wedding makes such great use of the beautiful English elements; walking through wild flowers to the hillside ceremony, sand dunes on the amazing Polzeath coast, hand-tied bouquets and a fabulous tee-pee reception to name just a few.
I hope you find these photos as heart warming as I did... and a great way to lift your mood today! Many thanks goes to the wonderful photographer John Alexander at John Alexander Wedding Photography.
