Lantern Love

I think candle light is a must at weddings and I try to add candles to every area of the reception that I can. And in the evening lanterns really will add a special touch to your day, whether they are scattered on the tables, hanging from trees around the grounds of the reception or creating a pathway to guide your guests. So many of the lanterns available at Notonthehighstreet.com caught my eye with almost one for every theme or wedding style (and budget!) that I could think of.  So, here is just a small selection of the ones that I loved. I definitely recommend taking a look for yourself at what they have to offer as there are just so many beautiful styles on there.
This vintage glass Victorian tea light holder has a delicate pretty decoration around the top and a slim metal handle. Perfect to hook on a tree in the garden with a candle in it or use as a mini vase with a single bloom.  After your wedding this would also look beautiful on your dressing table with jewellery hanging from it. Available from Notonthehighstreet (£6.50 each)
These very simple paper lanterns are perfect to create a magical walkway to your Wedding reception.  You could even send these as your ‘save the date’ by simply writing your message on the top and bottom. Available at notonthehighstreet (£9.50 for 7)
I think these are just style lanterns are just beautiful and would really add some Eastern charm to your day. With a selection of three fantastic jewel colours (amber, purple or turquoise) you could either create a sea of colour, or match them into your colour theme. The potion-bottle shaped structure is made from antique-gold iron with beautiful patterned glass windows and have a strong antique gold chain attached for ease of hanging. Available at notonthehighstreet (Sadly, they will set you back £23 each, but I still love them!)
This natural birch bark lantern would be a stunning addition to compliment a very natural wedding theme. The cut out heart shape reveals inner glass and candle light. Various sizes are available. Available at notonthehighstreet (£13.10 for a set of 2 small lanterns)

Although extremely basic, I think these zinc hanging tea light holders have a real charm, with the option of either a single large star or all over small stars these are perfect for adding warmth and atmosphere to your Wedding. I think to get the full effect you would need a lot of these, in both designs grouped together. Available at notonthehighstreet (£2.50 each)

These bright glass hanging jam jar lanterns would look fantastic scattered through the branches of trees at your reception for a magical fairy-like effect. Available at notonthehighstreet (£18 for 4 lanterns)
If you have a pastel theme... look no further! These beautiful pastel coloured lanterns available in green, lavender, pink and blue are just beautiful and can be accessorised with ribbons and flowers to really incorporate them into the reception. Available at notonthehighstreet (£7.99 each)
If you have any water at your reception, be it a lake, pond or even just a fountain, these delightful floating water lanterns would be fantastic to really make it a feature in the evening.   Each bio-degradable floating water lantern comes flat packed and complete with a tea light inside. Available at notonthehighstreet (£15 for 10 lanterns)

Lanterns would also be a great favour at the end of the evening too and something for the guests to remember your day every time it is lit!
