Weddings With Macmillan

It was whilst speaking to a future bride at The National Wedding Show at the weekend that I became aware of Macmillan's collection of Wedding favours and accessories and they really caught my eye. What a fantastic way to be able to both support the fantastic Macmillan Charity and also perhaps remember those who could not make it to your day.

My favourite item in their range are the place cards with flower seeds favour packet hidden inside. Each placecard, edged with pretty detail, comes with a small packet of 'Love in a Mist' flower seeds inside for your guests to take home and plant.  I think this is a Wedding favour guaranteed to touch the hearts of many of your guests. (10 place cards and seed packets per pack. £9.95)
They also have a great activity book to keep Children entertained. (£6 each)
For their full Wedding range visit the Macmillan Website.

New Charity Bridal Pop-Up Boutique In London

Calling all brides-to-be out there looking to save a penny or two! The new Octavia Foundation Bridal pop-up boutique shop in London could be just the place. Opening on 18th October (until 31st October) the shop will be located on the stylish Brompton Road.  With recent donations from a number of local boutiques and outlets, the pop-up boutique will stock brand new never-worn gowns, samples and pre-loved wedding dresses, as well as a selection of one-off vintage ensembles.  The boutique will also stock a wide range of  wedding shoes, accessories, bridal jewellery, pretty bridesmaids’ frocks and brand new fabulous venue decorations such as fabric bunting, paper pom poms and lanterns and bird cages.

Jenni Heavingham, Head of Shops at The Octavia Foundation says: “We have received thousands of pounds worth of designer dresses from local boutiques, as well as many pre-loved and vintage dresses. With used dresses starting at £40 and brand new, never-worn gowns retailing at prices up to £500, it’s a great opportunity for London brides to get their hands on a real bargain and support our work in the process."

The Octavia Foundation is a fantastic, local, community-based charity that works in west and central London supporting local people during times of personal difficulty or crisis.   I will definitely be popping down for a peek!
