We asked, Baiba Grase, Honeymoon Specialist and Senior Travel Team consultant with boutique hotel experts Mr & Mrs Smith, for her for her top five honeymoon hotels with perfect pools. Here are her picks…
I absolutely love Six Senses Yao Noi in Thailand. The whole place is super-luxurious: even getting there (via private speedboat over to the island) is a lavish adventure. The icing on the cake, though, is the infinity pool – it has jaw-dropping views over Phang Nga Bay’s spectacular limestone towers jutting out from the jewel-coloured water. It’s truly heaven on earth!
Il Salviatino in Italy is a beautiful and historic Florentine villa with gorgeous interiors, but the showstopper is its three cascading clear-blue pools surrounded by beautiful gardens of lavender and rose bushes. I stayed in the Dome View suite, which is just so elegant – it’s all chocolate-browns and whites. When you’re wandering the grounds and castle you feel like you’re in your own little fairytale.
Kura in Costa Rica is incredible – if you’re looking for real jungle adventure, this is the place, but it’s also a designer’s dream. It’s sleek, geometrical and modern, and thoroughly eco-conscious: somehow event the solar panels are elegant. The infinity pool is magnificent: it has beautiful dark green tiles and views over the ocean, and the water reflects the jungle all around you. Completely one of a kind.
The pool at Kasbah Tamadot in the Atlas Mountains, Morocco is another favourite of mine – it’s a beautiful glittering turquoise with mountain views. You get a real sense of the rich heritage of the country up there, but it’s also such a peaceful unique environment (the peacocks roam freely around the water). The hotel shows such attention to detail – each room is unique – and the food is amazing, too!
For me, The Nam Hai is one of the most incredible properties in Vietnam. Its architecture really is something else. Not only does it have three gloriously huge swimming pools – each one a level below the other – but it’s also on the most phenomenal stretch of beach. The lower infinity pool is my personal favourite: you feel like you’re swimming right into the ocean on the horizon.
I hope you are feeling inspired for your Honeymoon planning... I am off to try to convince my Husband that we need to book a holiday immediately!!
