Rustic elegance
As a full-time events manager, Teva had clear ideas about the quality and atmosphere she wanted their wedding venue to have. She was keen to try and find something that offered a balance between a classic hotel and a farm style wedding, stylish elegance mixed with rustic charm. They stumbled upon Southends Barns in Chichester just as they were finishing their barn renovations. It seemed to be just what they were looking for. So from 10,000 miles away in Australia Teva and Neil began to plan their big day.
Personal style
Having decided upon a midnight blue for a colour theme to suit their winter wedding, Teva was keen to give their day a truely unique feel to it and spent much time sourcing their bespoke touches such as old willow style blue and white china crockery and making favours herself; personalised scrabble cufflinks for the men and heart-shaped key rings for the ladies. Teva also designed all of the Wedding stationery including invitations, signage posters for the venue and thank you cards. For other elements of the day Teva and Neil called upon Kate Fletcher from Vintage Style Hire who supplied a treasure trove of accessories to complement the entire theme of the day, including a photo booth, distressed furniture, wooden crates and an assortment of old books which featured as part of the table centre pieces.
A relaxed celebration
The day itself went incredibly smoothly and guests enjoyed a mouth-watering spread, including a 'cheese garden of Eden', a chestnut cart, a hot chocolate station and marshmallows to toast on the open fire. Mulled wine was served after the ceremony and outdoor heaters kept the guests cosy as they mingled in the open winter air around the Collecting Yard, which was lit with twinkling lanterns.
